On the morning of Tuesday the 21st of April 2009 the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received the report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Forest Hill Road in the Town of Bancroft.
Sometime overnight a black Chevrolet Blazer was stolen and a GPS unit was stolen from a different vehicle in the driveway. The Blazer was later recovered in the ditch on Highway 28 in the Town of Bancroft near Lakeview Road.
